Let me tell you about the time that I stayed in a brothel. I love a good story so when it came to booking a Christmas market a few years ago, I was determined to find a conformable hotel with a story. You must remember this was before I joined the Travel Business, but you can see that I was born for research, even back then.
I grew up living along the St. Lawrence River so the idea of finding a hotel along the River Lys / Leie sounded perfect. We stayed at the Ghent Marriott a former Brothel. During the entire trip, we referred to our beautiful hotel as the brothel. I probably should grow up a little, but it’s my sense of humour 😂. After that, we kept on discovering funny things in the shop such as chocolate bears. Check out his name
