The Dos
- Always get travel insurance. That’s is one of the services that I can offer you
- Have photocopies of your passport
- Have a battery pack for the moments when you need your phone. Here is the link to one that I have
- Wear a silk money belt that you don’t access often. Useful in some countries. If it’s silk it’s less itchy
- Download episodes of your favourite playlists and podcasts to keep you entertained when you have no Wi-Fi or free reception
The Don’ts
- Don’t be too distracted to not notice if you are being followed. A story for that can soon be found in the blog under Stonetown Zanzibar
- Don’t get caught out by not having your travel insurance details handy
- Don’t keep your hotel room key next to your phone as sometimes they get erased. Magnets are also not your room keys friend
- Don’t get luggage that you will struggle with. When buying luggage, splash out and get a 4-wheel spinner. Trust me! Here are some links to save money. The more you save the more you can spend on yourself
- Don’t have your headphone on so loud at the airport that you almost miss your flight! Been there, done that. I don’t recommend it. It took almost 30 minutes for my breathing to get back to normal on the flight once I boarded. Plus the stares from the other passengers are not that delightful

Things that I like
Delsey luggage – My Delsey luggage has really lasted. I bought a super light range so that I can use my luggage weight allowance on things 🛍️ and not on the suitcase 🧳. #goodcommonsense.
Vivobarefoot – My favourite way to experience a new culture or even my own city is to walk. Barefoot walking but with a shoe is what Vivobareefoot are all about. Their site explains all of the health benefits. I’m such a big fan that they have kindly given all of my friends 20% off. Happy shopping and remember they give a whopping 100-day free trial.
Monzo Bank – I’ve found that it’s much easier to travel with a card 💳 that has your travel money all ready to go. With Monzo you get fee-free spending and a fair exchange rate. They pass Mastercard’s exchange rate directly onto you, without sneaky fees or extra charges. Get £5 into your Monzo account when you sign up here.
